SLWC is governed by a Board of 5 members. This Board carries out the following governance functions:
- Establishes the strategy and direction for SLWC
- Provides line management for the Manager and the team
- Establishes annual budgets and output targets; monitoring these on a monthly basis
- Provides the finacial monitoring and signs of payments
- Ensures that all govering policies and procedures are in place
SLWC’s Manager represents the Centre at either committee member or director level on the following range of organisations:
- Strabane Employers Stakeholder Forum
- Social Renewal Team
- Neighbourhood Renewal Partnership Board
- Strabane Citizens Advice Bureau
- Suicide Community Response Team
- New Horizons Partnership
- Strabane Chamber of Commerce and Industry (President)
- SDC Mixed Economy sub group (Regeneration Future Search Process)
- SDC Social Inclusion (Regeneration Future Search Process)

- Strabane North West Women’s Sectoral Strategy Group (with Strabane District Council, Omagh District Council and Derry City Council)
This provides the Strabane and Lifford Women’s Centre with a District Wide network and scope to engage with potential partners which have a tract record of reaching ‘hard to get to/seldom heard’ vulnerable people across the District along with its own outstanding record of targeting and inclusion of groupings that usually would slip through the net.
